Andy Cooley Appointed to NCUTCD Committee

by Brian Augenthaler

Andy Cooley has been appointed to a position on the Signal Technical Committee of the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (NCUTCD) at its June meeting in Denver, Colorado. The NCUTCD is the body of civil engineers, traffic engineers and other scientists who draft and promulgate the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The MUTCD is the governing documents for all signs, markings and signal on public roads in the United States.

This appointment marks the first time a practicing lawyer has been asked to join the National Committee. Andy will serve on the Signals Technical Committee and work on several specialty task forces. He will also provide legal analysis in areas of interest to the Committee and its constituents.

Andy’s role in this committee will serve his public agency clients in all aspects of his road design liability practice and reflects KBMs continued emphasis on subject matter expertise for its clients.
